iCoDaCo brings together over 60 contemporary dance artists from across 11 European countries to develop and implement new methodologies for creating and disseminating contemporary dance. Nine collectives will work locally but simultaneously, initially in 15 weeks of extensive research that will contribute to the creation of the first of its kind open-access digital platform for contemporary dance practices. This innovative and multi-format platform will take form as a knowledge library and interactive tool for creation and research processes.
In the later phase of the project, the collectives will create and present nine new and original works in different compositions and forms (e.g. hybrid, live, scored, improvised, film). The works will all be based on a common score that the artists will have all developed collectively. The works will be shared with audiences and communities across Europe in a hybrid program (physical and digital) within iCoDaCo festivals of dance.
The project also offers a Continuous Professional Development Programme for artists and culture workers, led by FACE. iCoDaCo gathers together 12 European partners which bring a wealth of expertise and experience to foster a rich environment for collaboration, creativity and art-form development.
